Band of the Week: Central High School

 

This week’s 41NBC Band of the Week spotlight shines on the Central High School Legendary Sugarbear Band.

Band Director Kameron Agee, now in his sixth year with the program, says he is looking forward to the many opportunities ahead for the band and its students.

One of the biggest highlights of the season is a personal invitation to participate in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Parade in New Orleans, Louisiana. The invitation is a major honor for the Sugar Bear Band and gives students the chance to perform on a much larger stage.

But getting the entire band to New Orleans will take the support of the community. The program is currently seeking donations and business sponsorships to help ensure every student has the opportunity to experience this once-in-a-lifetime trip.

Agee says the goal is to make sure finances don’t prevent any student from being part of this special experience.
