Pulaski County Schools to begin daily metal detection for K-12 students

HAWKINSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Pulaski County Schools will begin daily metal detection for all K-12 students Friday as an additional school security measure, according to the district.

The district announced the change Thursday, calling it a proactive step aimed at strengthening safety for students and staff.

Pulaski County Schools said it has continued to add and strengthen security measures over the years.

“Safety is, and will always be, our number one priority,” the district said.

The new metal detection procedures are set to begin Friday for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
