Bibb sheriff reducing number of deputies with Flock access

Flock access has dropped from more than 200 deputies to slightly more than 100, and Sheriff David Davis says he wants that number reduced further.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Bibb County Sheriff David Davis is responding after the arrests of three former Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies who are facing charges after an internal audit found they misused flock license plate data for personal reasons, rather than actual law enforcement purposes.  

Jail records show 45-year-old Coznavian Stubbs, 37-year-old Joseph Callaway and 32-year-old Toni Lewis were booked into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.  

All three have since been released.

Davis says at one point more than 200 deputies had access to the Flock cameras, but that number is now down to a little more than 100.

He says wants that number to continue to decrease for safety purposes. 

“Make sure they’re using the system as they should be and sending the message that we’re not going to tolerate any type of deviation or illegal use of the system,” he told 41NBC on Tuesday.

Sheriff Davis says he will be having meetings to discuss ways to advance his office’s understanding of Flock and community safety.
