Sheriff Modena Promotes 18 Deputies
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Sheriff Jerry Modena promoted nearly 20 deputies Wednesday.
Eight were promoted to the rank of senior lieutenant, these deputies are responsible for 20-40 officers. Ten were promoted to the rank of junior lieutenant, who acts as an executive officer of a patrol squad just under the senior lieutenant.
Chief Deputy David Davis says it’s been about three years since the sheriff’s office has made significant promotions like these.
“This is a great day and we’re proud for each one of these officers who’s been promoted here today and we’re certainly proud for their families also and were ready for them to take on the leadership and become the future of the sheriff’s office,” said Chief Deputy David Davis, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
“Working with these great men and women of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is a honorable feeling to be promoted to junior lieutenant, very honorable,” said Lt. Sean DeFoe, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Lt. Defoe was one of 18 deputies honored today. These promotions are effective immediatly.
