Warner Robins Police Investigates Vandalism at Local Church
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Warner Robins Police are investigating vandalism that happened in broad daylight at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
A thick, yellow powder-like substance filled the 25 thousand square foot church in Warner Robins Tuesday afternoon. We’re told by the pastor of the church that someone used a fire extinguisher and sprayed the entire church. The total estimated cost to clean up the mess will be in the thousands.
Pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Father Fredrick Nijem says the doors of the church stay open; and, most likely, vandals are to blame.
“Those who saw the damage, who came in yesterday, were literally in tears because of the.. this is not just a building to us; it’s a place of prayer. And, it’s a home where we find the presence of God.”
