Middle Georgia Educator Finalist for 2013 GA Teacher of the Year
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Lauren Eckman, a teacher at Georgia Academy for the Blind, is a top 10 finalist for Teacher of the Year.
State Superintendent, Dr. John Barge, announced the finalists today. Eckman was selected from 150 applicants.
She teaches language arts and visual impairment at the academy. The winner will be announced June 1st. The individual will travel around the state and the nation, serving as an ambassador for the teaching profession.
2012’s Georgia Teacher of the Year is Bibb County’s very own Jadun McCarthy.
