National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month?

MACON,Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Macon Mayor Robert Reichert and employees from the Cancer Life Center gathered today to talk about Colorectal Cancer. At a news conference at City Hall, Mayor Reichert proclaimed March as a time for awareness and education about the second-leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the country.  The mayor is teaming up with the Medical Center of Central Georgia to bring awareness to this deadly disease. 

“I had my first colonoscopy not too long ago, and I would encourage all men age 50 and over to seriously consider undergoing a routine colonoscopy…it is not as nearly as bad as it sounds.To describe it is much worse than to undergo it,” said Macon Mayor Robert Reichert.

The Cancer Research Center is encouraging men and women 50 and older to get screened regularly.
