(NBC)- President Donald Trump is preparing for the nation’s 250th birthday celebration as festivities get underway across the country.

Events include tall ships arriving in New York, fireworks displays nationwide and a major celebration on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., where triple-digit temperatures are expected. Organizers say security will be tight and are urging attendees to stay hydrated throughout the event.

Ahead of the celebration, Trump visited the new Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library in North Dakota, praising the former president’s legacy.

The trip also drew attention because Trump traveled aboard a redesigned Air Force One aircraft that was gifted by Qatar. The aircraft, valued at roughly $400 million, has sparked bipartisan criticism after Trump said it is expected to become part of his future presidential library once he leaves office.

The president is also facing renewed scrutiny following the release of his latest financial disclosures. The filings show Trump earned more than $2 billion last year, with more than half of that income tied to cryptocurrency ventures, including a Trump family crypto business.

The disclosures come as the Trump administration has eased regulations on the cryptocurrency industry. When asked about concerns that he is profiting while serving as president, Trump pointed to gains in the stock market, saying, “Everybody’s profiting.”
