Community cleanup set for Pio Nono Circle in Bibb County
Volunteers invited to join neighborhood effort to address litter and illegal dumping

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- A community cleanup is happening this Saturday in parts of Bibb County as leaders work to improve neighborhood conditions.
District 8 Commissioner Donice Bryant is partnering with the Berkshire, Canterbury, McEvoy Neighborhood Watch Association to host the cleanup on Saturday, June 27th. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Pio Nono Circle.
Volunteers are needed and should meet at 3385 Pio Nono Circle at 9 a.m. All cleanup supplies will be provided by Keep Macon Bibb Beautiful.
Bryant says the goal is to get more residents involved and inspire people to take action in their own communities. She says illegal dumping and neglect have been ongoing issues in some areas.
“People are tired of them coming out, you know, using their area where they live as a dumping ground, as you see, there’s a no dumping 500 dollar fine for most people that used to come out here and dump, and they’ve had to board up some of the places that nobody’s living in,” Bryant said.
Organizers are encouraging anyone interested to come out, wear comfortable clothing, closed toe shoes, and bring a water bottle.
Bryant says residents can report problem areas by contacting public works or using See Click Fix.
