Passenger killed in two vehicle crash in Macon
The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal traffic accident that happened Thursday night at the intersection of Bethel Church Road and Knoxville Road.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic accident that happened Thursday night at the intersection of Bethel Church Road and Knoxville Road.
According to the sheriff’s office, the crash was reported just before 10 p.m. Investigators say a Nissan Altima was traveling south on Knoxville Road when an Audi SUV traveling east on Bethel Church Road entered the intersection and collided with the Nissan.
A passenger in the Nissan, identified as 52-year-old Tony Gales, was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Officials said no other injuries were reported.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says Gales’ next of kin has been notified.
The crash remains under investigation.
