Morning Business Report: Trumprx Expands As Fraud Concerns And Atm Settlement Grow

(LILAMAX)- The Trump administration says it is expanding its TrumpRx prescription drug platform by adding more than 600 generic medications.

Officials also announced new features for the site, including tools that connect patients with the lowest-priced pharmacies in their area and home-delivery options for prescriptions.

The administration says the platform has already been visited more than 10 million times and claims Americans have saved more than $400 million through the service.

Meanwhile, Bank of America has agreed to pay $2.25 million to settle a class-action lawsuit accusing the bank of overcharging ATM fees at 7-Eleven locations.

The settlement could provide payments to thousands of checking account holders who used certain ATMs between 2018 and 2021.

Customers who still have Bank of America accounts and qualify may already have received notices by email or postcard and may not need to take further action. Former customers will need to submit an online claim by July 29 to receive compensation.

On Wall Street, stocks closed mixed Monday, with technology companies pulling back after recent gains.

A new national survey from Abrigo also highlights growing concerns about fraud in the United States, especially involving artificial intelligence.

Researchers found younger adults ages 18 to 34 are particularly worried about deepfake scams, including fake voices and AI-generated impersonations.

The survey also found generational differences in attitudes toward fraud responsibility. Younger Americans are more likely to expect banks to reimburse losses, while older Americans tend to view fraud prevention as a personal responsibility.

Nearly two in five Americans reported being victims of fraud, and one in five said they experienced bank fraud within the last year.

Another recent survey suggests many Americans are not fully ready for summer despite warmer weather approaching.

The Talker Research survey conducted for Factor found respondents feel only about 67% prepared for the season.

More than one-third of Americans admitted they struggle to keep up with summer activities, while some respondents said they are already tired of the heat.
