New 100-room Home2 Suites hotel coming to Milledgeville

The new Milledgeville project will include meeting spaces for businesses, conferences and other local events. 

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A new 100 room Home2 Suites by Hilton Hotel is coming to Milledgeville.  

Construction has begun on a new 100-room hotel on Roberson Mill Road. The new Milledgeville project will include meeting spaces for businesses, conferences and other local events. 

Executive Director for the Development Authority of Milledgeville Jonathan Jackson says this new hotel is needed due to the city of Milledgeville growing.  

“Aside from tourists, our businesses need places to put their specialists that come in,” he said. “They need to house sales people that come in, they need to house people that come in to do specific tasks for their businesses. We needed the rooms, but we also needed the meeting space, and that’s the key to this facility.” 

Jackson says impact studies showed that the city could use more hotel space, since the number of tourists and businesses has grown. 

“Hopefully they will be used for family events, weddings and gatherings,” he said. “One of the key pieces is companies will be able to book the space and use it for training for their employees, and different aspects of their job.”

Jackson says the project will include about 1,700 square feet of space. He believes this is the beginning of an economic boom for the city of Milledgeville. 

“We’re in a place now where we’re growing to the point where we can support not just this hotel but a couple of more that are on the line, that we’re working on,” he said. “You’ve got to have a place to put people, and when we can accommodate them more easily and closer to the places there visiting; it’s going to lead to more and more growth,” said Jackson. 

This hotel is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2027.
