Milledgeville Youth Development Campus incident ends without major injuries

Five boys barricaded themselves in a room before officers and staff safely resolved the situation

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- A group disturbance involving five boys occurred Sunday evening at the Milledgeville Youth Development Campus. According to Glenn Allen, Director of Communications for the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, the boys, whose ages have not been released, reportedly locked themselves inside a room for about two hours.

With help from the tactical response team, Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, and Milledgeville Police Department, the situation was resolved safely, and all youth were returned to their rooms. One male officer sustained minor injuries, was treated at a local hospital, and released.
