RAFB Mechanic’s Death Ruled a Possible Suicide

ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE (41NBC/WMGT) – Officials at Robins Air Force base are investigating after they say a mechanic died of an apparent suicide.

Houston County Coroner Daniel Galpin says 51-year-old Robert Davis died this morning of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigators say he shot himself on base, but died off base later in the morning.

According to Robins spokesperson, Chrissy Miner, the man was a civilian worker in the 402nd Maintenance Wing.

The Air Force Office of Special Investigations is looking into Davis’s death.
