Fort Valley mayor announces LeMario Brown as city administrator
Appointment follows city council vote to accept previous administrator’s resignation in February

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Fort Valley Mayor Shekeena Reeves has announced on her Facebook page the appointment of LeMario Brown as the new city administrator.
Previously, Brown served six years on the Fort Valley City Council, where he had also served as mayor pro tem. He has described himself as a farmer and small business owner, and most recently ran as a Democrat in the Senate District 18 special election earlier this year.
On February 3rd, Fort Valley City Council members voted to accept the resignation of former city administrator Gary Lee.
In a message to supporters, Reeves said she is “encouraged” by the appointment and expressed hope that Brown will help move the city forward.
“The people of Fort Valley made a choice. Not for comfort, but for change. Not for silence, but for leadership,” Reeves said.
Reeves said she believes Brown can help bring structure, professionalism, and unity to city government.
“I am hopeful he will help bring the structure, professionalism, and unity needed so that we can move forward together—with respect and purpose,” Reeves said.
Reeves acknowledged challenges ahead but said she remains committed to working toward the city’s future.
“Fort Valley is worth the fight. Our future is worth the work. And together—we will move forward,” Reeves said.
