Blue Bird Corporation Appoints New SVP of Engineering

Blue Bird Corporation, a leader in electric and low-emission school buses, has named Lyndon Lie as Senior Vice President of Engineering. Lie will oversee product development, platform engineering, innovation and execution for the company. Blue Bird’s CEO, John Wyskiel, says Lie’s leadership will be vital as the company scales its engineering capabilities. Lie, a veteran of the auto and commercial vehicle industries, expressed his excitement to help drive innovation at Blue Bird.

 

Prime, Inc. to Invest $160 Million and Create Over 120 Jobs in Spalding County

Governor Brian Kemp announced that Prime, Inc., a prominent North American transportation company, will invest more than $160 million to establish a new Southeastern hub in Spalding County. The project is expected to create more than 120 full-time jobs and more than 50 professional driver positions. The high-tech campus, to be located at the High Falls 16 Business Center near Griffin, will offer driver training, equipment maintenance and amenities for employees. Prime, Inc. is now hiring for a range of roles, including mechanics and driving operators.

 

Hyatt Studios Hotel Approved for North Macon

Macon-Bibb Planning and Zoning has approved plans for a new Hyatt Studios hotel at 1512 Bass Road. The seven-story, 128-room hotel will add to local lodging options and feature a main lobby, administrative offices, laundry facilities and support spaces. The design does not include a restaurant, bar, or swimming pool, but provides 121 parking spaces. The project aims to meet growing demand for accommodations in north Macon.

 

U.S. Postal Inspection Service Announces Nationwide Hiring Drive

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service has launched a nationwide hiring initiative, with its application portal open through Thursday, April 23. The agency, which serves as the federal law enforcement arm of the U.S. Postal Service, is seeking applicants from veterans, private sector professionals and law enforcement officers. The hiring drive is expected to create significant employment opportunities in Georgia and across the country, supporting both economic growth and mail security.
