Man sentenced for shooting cousin while on probation for shooting aunt in Macon
According to the district attorney’s office, the April 22, 2025, shooting happened just seven days after Fuller was placed on probation for a separate incident involving his aunt.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man was sentenced for shooting his cousin while on probation for shooting his aunt, according to the Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.
Michael Fuller was sentenced March 31, 2026, following a revocation hearing in which the court revoked his First Offender status and adjudicated him guilty on the original charge of aggravated assault. He received the maximum sentence allowed by law and will serve 19 years in the Georgia Department of Corrections.
According to the district attorney’s office, the April 22, 2025, shooting happened just seven days after Fuller was placed on probation for a separate incident involving his aunt.
Authorities said Fuller inserted himself into an argument between his cousin and another individual on Log Cabin Road in Macon. His cousin was attempting to defuse the situation when Fuller opened fire, striking her. Investigators said Fuller then continued to point the gun at her before fleeing the scene.
Prosecutors said Fuller’s actions violated the terms of his First Offender probation, which stemmed from the earlier case involving his aunt.
The Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office said the sentence holds Fuller accountable for repeated acts of family violence.
District Attorney Anita Howard released the following statement:
“This office will not stand by while repeat offenders treat their probation as a license to continue harming others. Fuller had every opportunity to turn away. Instead, he shot a family member who was simply trying to help. The maximum sentence handed down by the court sends a clear message that violence within our community, including within families, will be met with the full force of the law.”
