Cherry Blossom Festival continues with Heroes Day, concerts in Macon
Festival activities Monday included free treats, live music and special discounts for military and first responders.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Cherry Blossom Festival events continued Monday, featuring themed activities, live music and special discounts for first responders and military members.
Third Street is getting into the Cherry Blossom spirit with its downtown festivities each weekday, which includes free ice cream and Coca-Cola products from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Resident Alvin Purnell says he comes to the events every year and enjoys the positive environment it brings.
“A lot of people are looking for fun, the sun is out, and it’s beautiful,” he said. “So, everybody’s going to have fun and enjoy one another and meet new people. That’s what it’s all about.”
Monday is Heroes Day at Carolyn Crayton Park, which includes free admission and $10 unlimited amusement rides for members of the military and first responders.
Singer and songwriter Stacey Blanton is performing Monday night at Carolyn Crayton Park as part of the nightly concert series. The show is at 7. The park remains open until 10.
Carolyn Crayton Park is open Sunday through Thursday from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m., Friday from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.
