MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A local organization is celebrating creativity and confidence through a unique event.

The Mentors Project hosted its annual tea party at the Tubman Museum Monday alongside Think Pink, giving students a chance to showcase their etiquette skills.

The event also featured a Think Pink hat competition, where students designed and modeled their own creations.

Organizers say the event has been a tradition for several years and continues to highlight students’ talents and growth.

Tracey Allen, executive director of the Mentors Project, says the event gives students an opportunity to express themselves in a positive way.

“I’m glad they were able to show their creative side with the hats,” Allen said. “I’m proud of them.”

Adults in the competition receive ribbons, while student participants typically win monetary prizes, according to Allen.
