Oklahoma man accused of killing twin sister, 17-month-old child arrested in Monroe County

MONROE COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — An Oklahoma man wanted in a double homicide case was arrested Sunday in Monroe County, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a news release, Monroe County deputies were alerted at 12:27 a.m. March 22 to a BOLO regarding a double homicide suspect out of Oklahoma.

The suspect was identified as 31-year-old Grant Hoffman Wilson of Poteau, Oklahoma.

The release states that Wilson was traveling through the area after the LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office in LeFlore, Oklahoma, tracked his vehicle.

Wilson was traveling southbound on Interstate 475 when deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop, leading to a brief pursuit.

The vehicle eventually stopped, and Wilson was taken into custody without further incident. He was armed with a pistol at the time of his arrest.

A search of Wilson’s vehicle revealed more weapons, including a Browning lever-action rifle, a shotgun, multiple loaded magazines and loose ammunition of various calibers. Deputies also found several packed bags containing clothing, long-term food supplies and additional ammunition.

Wilson is wanted for allegedly killing his twin sister and her 17-month-old child. He is currently being held in the Monroe County Jail on charges of felony fleeing and obstruction. He is awaiting extradition to Oklahoma, where he will face double homicide charges.

According to the sheriff’s office, this marks the fourth murder suspect apprehended by Monroe County deputies in recent years.
