Slain Teammate Giddings’ Alma Mater to Host Honorary Softball Tournament

Agnes Scott College in Decatur will host a softball tournament to honor Lauren Giddings, who was murdered in Macon last summer after graduating from Mercer University’s Law School. Giddings attended Agnes Scott and graduated in 2006. She was on the softball team all 4 years,
and was known as “beast.”

The tournament will be held March 3rd and 4th at Oakhurst Field in Decatur. It’s free and open to the public.

The tournament schedule is as follows: Saturday March 3: 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m.; and Sunday March 4: 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m. and tentatively 4 p.m.
