Savannah Guthrie announces $1 million reward in search for missing mother Nancy
A new, heartbreaking call for help is coming from Savannah as the search for her mother, Nancy, reaches day 24.

(NBC)- A new, heartbreaking call for help is coming from Savannah as the search for her mother, Nancy, reaches day 24.
“It is day 24 since our mom was taken in the dark of night from her bed, and every hour and minute and second and every long night has been agony since then — of worrying about her and fearing for her, aching for her, and most of all, just missing her,” Savannah said in an emotional video message.
In that same video, Savannah announced a $1 million reward for information that leads to her mother’s whereabouts. She also revealed a $500,000 donation to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to help other families facing similar tragedies.
“We still believe in a miracle. We still believe that she can come home, hope against hope,” Savannah said. “We also know that she may be lost. She may already be gone. She may have already gone home to the Lord that she loves… If this is what is to be, then we will accept it. But we need to know where she is. We need her to come home.”
A source close to the Guthrie family says Savannah and her siblings raised the idea of offering a reward on the very first day of the investigation. They were reportedly advised that doing so too early could overwhelm the infrastructure used to field tips. The source says the decision to move forward with the reward now comes after close consultation with law enforcement.
Meanwhile, new questions are emerging about the masked man connected to the case. Two law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation told NBC News that an image circulating publicly — which does not appear to show the suspect wearing a backpack or gun holster — was captured on an earlier date, before the morning of Nancy’s abduction.
However, the sheriff disputes that conclusion, saying the date of the image is still under investigation.
“It is all speculative for someone to suggest that that photo’s from a different day,” the sheriff said.
Authorities continue to urge anyone with credible information to come forward as the family clings to hope for answers.
