Warner Robins Council Votes to ‘Abandon Road’ to Help Houston County Board of Education
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Warner Robins City Council unanimously voted to abandon a road tonight to help further education in Houston County.
Dover Drive is part of the City of Warner Robins, and it runs right in front of C.B. Elementary. The Houston County Board of Education plans to tear down the school and rebuild it, but they needed the land owned by the city to complete the project. Mayor Chuck Shaheen and council decided to sign the deed over to the board of education so they can move forward without any hassle.
“It shows a partnership between the city of Warner Robins and the Houston County Board of Education to further education in the city and the county.”
Mayor Shaheen says this will help the Houston County Board of Education make the best use of their SPLOST money.
