Community forum aims to raise awareness on human and sex trafficking in Macon
Macon residents will have the opportunity to learn more about human and sex trafficking during a community forum focused on prevention, awareness, and action.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC) – The Human & Sex Trafficking Forum, presented by Priscilla Stanley and The Edify House, will take place Friday, January 30, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church, located at 1539 Martin Luther King Boulevard in Macon.
January is recognized nationally as Human Trafficking Prevention Month, and organizers say the forum is designed to educate the public on how trafficking impacts local communities — not just large cities.
The event will feature members of the Human Trafficking Task Force and local advocates who will discuss:
- How to recognize trafficking indicators
- Racial disparities among missing and exploited youth
- The role schools and workplaces play in prevention
- Resources available for victims and families
Organizers also hope to empower attendees with practical tools to respond if they suspect trafficking in their neighborhoods.
Light refreshments will be provided, and the event is open to the public.
