The American Architectural Foundation has chosen Macon as 1 of 8 cities nationwide for The Sustainable Cities Design Academy

Macon,Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The American Architectural Foundation has chosen Macon as one of 8 cities nationwide for the Sustainable Cities Design Academy.  Macon was selected for its second street multi-modal transportation project.  AAF is a non-profit organization that educates the public about the power of architecture to improve lives and transform communities.  The Sustainable Cities Academy holds 3-day workshops with the nations premiere experts in design and sustainability.

“Recieving this assistance from the sustainable cities design academy will help Macon by recieving technical assiastance from the nations premier experts in sustainablity and design and also helps to spotlight macon in as a progressibe city that is focused on redevelepment”, said Gil Prado, Assistant Director for Macon’s Economic & Community Development Department.

A 4-member team from Macon will attend the Academy in San Francisco, in April.
