170 Traffic Accidents on Gray Highway In 2011

Gray Highway in Macon has seen its share of accidents over the years, but 2011’s numbers may shock you. From Spring street on Riverside drive to the Macon city limit sign, accidents have been on the rise. Lt. Wilton Collins of Macon’s traffic division says most of the accidents that happen on Gray Highway are from people driving too fast for the conditions or following too close behind another vehicle. Lt. Collins says the public’s safety and enforcing the speed limit is the traffic divisions top priority.

“Just be aware, slow down, drive carefully, wear your seat belt, when you see us don’t think we are out there to try to boost our income or out there trying to because we get points or that we have a quota that we have to hit. No, I don’t get paid anymore money regardless of how many tickets are written down here. We try to keep you alive”, said Lt. Wilton Collins.
