MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Small Business Administrator Kelly Loeffler visited a Macon manufacturing business Friday to tout the Trump administration’s economic policies’ impact on small manufacturers across the country.

“What we see is Made in America, hiring, deregulation, tax cuts, inflation coming down, interest rates coming down, and the entire economic agenda that’s helping great small manufacturers like this that are powering our large manufacturers,” Loeffler said.

Loeffler, a former Georgia senator, said fair trade policies are driving demand and growth for small manufacturers, which the SBA says make up 98 percent of all U.S. manufacturers. She says bringing back manufacturing, rebuilding supply chains and expanding a skilled workforce will benefit the economy in multiple ways.

“We’re creating opportunities across this country to really drive that innovation supply chain, not ship our intellectual property over to China and have them replicate what we’re doing, but have that done right here at home, and have it done better,” she said.

Eric Williams, CEO of Prince Service and Manufacturing, says fair trade policies are leveling the playing field for American companies. Williams says since tariffs have been implemented, the company has seen a surge in orders. He says there is no longer an unfair advantage to producing goods overseas.

“Now that it’s level set, we’re seeing orders increase,” he said. “Domestic companies are growing, and there’s more opportunity than ever here domestically because American and non-American companies can buy from the U.S. again.”

According to Williams, Prince Service and Manufacturing has been able to add new machinery and a new facility, something he says was not possible before recent tax changes.

“Being able to write off 100% of the facility is monumental for us in our growth,” he said. “Without that, we just couldn’t have done it.”

Williams says the company has grown to more than 500 employees in a short amount of time and expects to reach 1,000 employees by the end of the year, which Loeffler says will benefit families across the country.

Loeffler says the biggest need moving forward is a skilled workforce to support continued growth in the manufacturing sector.
