Perry Buzzard Drop returns New Year’s Eve to ring in 2026
The City of Perry is once again inviting the community to ring in the New Year with one of Middle Georgia’s most recognizable traditions.
PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Perry Buzzard Drop returns to Historic Downtown Perry on New Year’s Eve, December 31, with festivities beginning at 8:00 p.m. The annual celebration features live entertainment, family-friendly activities, and a midnight countdown to welcome 2026.
This year’s event includes a kiddie countdown at 9:00 p.m., giving families with younger children a chance to celebrate early. Attendees can also enjoy live music, DJ entertainment, free face painting, balloon art, interactive games, and food from downtown restaurants and vendors throughout the evening.
At midnight, crowds will gather to watch the iconic buzzard drop followed by a fireworks display over downtown Perry.
City officials say complimentary shuttle service will be available for Perry residents, with handicap parking offered near Main Street and Ball Street. More information and updates are available through the City of Perry.
