Atlanta Braves Honor Teacher of the Year Jadun McCarthy
Today, 3 Atlanta Braves players surprised Georgia Teacher of the Year, Jadun McCarthy, with his very own Braves Jersey.
The major league team is currently on their Atlanta Braves Country Caravan Tour visiting fans across the Southeast.
McCarthy, a lifelong Braves follower, was speechless when he was handed his personalized jersey.
“If I could play any sport it would be baseball. So to have my own Atlanta Braves Jersey with my name on the back… this is something I’m going to treasure forever. I don’t know if I want to hang it up somewhere, or do I want to wear it, or sleep with it, or what I want to do with it,” says McCarthy.
The ball players also took time to sign autographs and talk with Northeast High School Students.
Pitcher, Craig Kimbrel, says, “I know when I was in high school if somebody came up to me and talked to me it would have been beneficial and very helpful. Would have made me feel good and to work hard. And that’s what we want to do today, we want to talk to these kids and let them know if they work hard good things can happen.”
The Braves Caravan will be at Academy Sports on Eisenhower Parkway for autograph signing from 4:00 to 5:30pm.
