Marché de Noel bringing new holiday tradition to Downtown Macon
Macon’s holiday season is getting even brighter this year with the debut of a new European-inspired Christmas market in the heart of downtown.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The inaugural Marché de Noel: Macon Christmas Market will take place December 5–14 at Cherry Street Plaza, running alongside the beloved Macon Christmas Light Extravaganza.
The 10-day market aims to enhance the festive atmosphere that already draws hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Wooden chalets, twinkling lights, seasonal music, and daily themed events will create a classic holiday market experience, similar to those seen across Europe.
Visit Macon is leading the effort, partnering with Fall Line Brewing Co., Munich Event Group, and local sponsors to bring this new tradition to life. The market will showcase handcrafted gifts, international food and drink, including traditional Gluhwein, and performances featuring both Christmas favorites and global sounds.
With a focus on local artisans, small businesses, and downtown commerce, the Marché de Noel hopes to support Macon’s continued growth as a top holiday destination for families across Georgia and beyond.
The Macon Christmas Market is “uniquely made for the city ‘Where Soul Lives,’” and organizers expect it to become an annual holiday staple.
