A frigid start to Black Friday shopping

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The recent stretch of warm temperatures has come to an abrupt end, as breezy and dry northwesterly flow has ushered in a seasonably cool airmass across

our region. Skies will remain mostly clear through Friday with this very dry airmass in place. One downfall of this will be fire weather concerns due to low relative humidity in the afternoon, especially across Middle Georgia. High temperatures will only reach the upper 40s in North Georgia, with mid to upper 50s in Central Georgia. These will cool a few more degrees on Friday, reaching the mid to upper 40s in North Georgia and low to mid 50s in Middle Georgia. Overnight lows tonight and Friday night will also be 8-10 degrees below normal for this time of the year, with mid to upper 20s across North Georgia, and upper 20s to low 30s across Central Georgia. Saturday will bring the potential for another Fire Danger Statement due to low relative humidity in the afternoon and evening, as well as increasingly dry fuels. Sunday through Tuesday will bring the return of rainfall across North and Middle Georgia.
