Downtown Cochran Launches Two Festive Holiday Events

COCHRAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Downtown Cochran is gearing up for the holiday season with two community events aimed at supporting small businesses and bringing families together.

The first celebration, Shop Local First, takes place Saturday, November 29, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event aligns with Small Business Saturday and encourages residents to shop downtown and support Cochran’s locally owned shops. An indoor Christmas market will also be set up at the Chamber Commons, offering handmade gifts, crafts and seasonal items from local vendors.

Organizers say the event is designed to boost business for small retailers during the busiest shopping weekend of the year while creating a festive start to the season.

The holiday fun continues on December 13 with “A Very Cochran Christmas,” scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. in downtown Cochran. Families can take part in activities including photos with Santa and the Grinch, Christmas caroling, cocoa and cider stations, and a Christmas crossword. The indoor Christmas market at the Chamber Commons will also be open extended hours, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Both events are hosted by the Cochran Downtown Development Authority and the Cochran-Bleckley Chamber of Commerce. Leaders say they hope the festivities create opportunities for residents to connect, shop locally and enjoy the spirit of the season.
