Two men arrested after stolen truck recovered in Washington County
Deputies stopped a white 2015 GMC Sierra with an Arizona tag around 8:30 p.m. on November 19 near Highway 540 and Ridge Road.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two men were arrested Wednesday night after Washington County deputies recovered a stolen vehicle reported out of South Carolina, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies stopped a white 2015 GMC Sierra with an Arizona tag around 8:30 p.m. on November 19 near Highway 540 and Ridge Road. The truck matched the description of a vehicle reported stolen in South Carolina.
The occupants were detained while dispatchers confirmed the vehicle’s stolen status, the sheriff’s office said. Once confirmed, both men were taken into custody.
23-year-old Johnathon Hunter Chancellor from Atlanta and 30-year-old Warren Dixon Jr. from Charleston, South Carolina, were each charged with theft by receiving stolen property. Chancellor was also wanted in Walton County on the same charge.
Sheriff Joel Cochran commended the deputies and 911 communications officers involved, calling it a “fast and proactive response.”
