Forsyth Mayor Promises to Address Cable System

Mayor John Howard is barely one month into his service, and he’s already making big promises to the residents of Forsyth.

At tonight’s council meeting, Howard pledged that within 30 days there will be a decision made about the long-debated cable system. The city purchased the system back in 1999.

According to Howard, it’s costing the city a lot more money than it’s worth.

“Around about a half million give or take. We’re already projected to lose that this year and what I’ve told the council is I’m not just gonna sit here and stand by for that. We cannot let that happen if we know it’s already there. We have to do something about it,” says Howard.

Mayor Howard says he plans to do extensive research to determine whether or not it’s in the city’s best interest to keep or sell the cable system. He vows to keep his personal opinion aside,
and make the best decision for the city of Forsyth.
