Drier & cooler weather for Thursday and Halloween

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Cool, cloudy, and damp conditions will persist into the early morning. Winds will shift behind the frontal boundary, becoming westerly. Drying is

expected, particularly throughout the day, as precipitation chances decrease. Clouds will also gradually lift and scatter throughout the day. For Friday, a trend of drier but colder conditions settles in place. High pressure settles into the area with winds generally from the north. For high temperatures we will struggle to get out of the 60s with overnight lows in the 30s and 40s. A weak pulse in the upper level flow could bring some moisture out of the Gulf late Sunday into Monday and while the European model indicates that this could bring some more light rain into the area, the GFS wants to keep most of that precipitation south of the region. Given the cooler temps, we are not expecting anything in the way of thunderstorms if it turns out the EURO is correct. Keep an eye on the forecast through the weekend in order to figure out your umbrella situation as we start next week.
