New Year’s Traffic Count: Accidents and Injuries Less Than 2010

As the holiday weekend officially comes to an end, traffic accidents and injuries are down by a significant amount from last year.

If you traveled the roads this holiday weekend, you probably noticed heavy traffic, heavy delays, and a heavy presence of law enforcement.

“Our command staff has told us to step up our patrol, more aggressive patrol,” says Sergeant Mike Maynard, Georgia State Patrol, Perry.

Maynard believes this is one reason the roads were a little safer this year.
