(CNN)- The new drama A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, starring Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell, opened to a disappointing $3.5 million in its debut weekend—well short of studio projections of $10 million. The film, which cost an estimated $45 million to produce, also struggled with poor reviews.
In other Hollywood news, Oppenheimer director Christopher Nolan has been elected president of the Directors Guild of America at the DGA’s national convention. Nolan, a guild member since 2001, has served on its national board since 2015.
