MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The annual Macon Witches Float invites participants to paddle the Ocmulgee River in costume while supporting a local cause.

The event begins October 5 at Amerson River Park, with a float to Bragg Jam South River Access.

Paddlers can decorate their kayaks, canoes or paddleboards, and a guest judge will award a $100 prize for best costume. Donations of feminine hygiene products will benefit Macon Periods Easier and enter donors into prize drawings, including a paddle excursion.

Registration ranges from $20 to $85, with rentals available through Ocmulgee Outdoor Expeditions. Proceeds support Macon Periods Easier, which works to fight period poverty in the community.
