First Friday at the Tubman Benefit underway on Friday

"The Party with a Purpose" benefit is happening Friday, September 4 from 5 to 8 p.m.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Tubman African American Museum in Macon hosting its First Friday at the Tubman Museum this Friday.

The event is described as “Partying with a Purpose.”

George Crawley, education coordinator at Tubman African American Musuem, tells 41NBC it’s a benefit to raise money for the Tubman Museum’s Children’s Art Programs.

Collected money will be used to help cover programs such as museum tours, workshops and ongoing summer programs, to name a few.

“The Party with a Purpose” benefit is happening Friday, September 4 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Admission is $10 per person.

There will be a DJ and refreshments on hand.
