Review of bus footage confirmed the driver’s account, showing the women yelling at students and engaging in pushing and pulling that escalated into a physical confrontation.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Three women were arrested in August following a confrontation on a Bibb County school bus that was going to Westside High School, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said a deputy was dispatched at approximately 7 a.m. to investigate a parent on board a bus. While en route, dispatch redirected him to meet the bus at 4580 Cavalier Drive, the Bibb County Board of Education Transportation Site.
Upon arrival, the deputy met with the bus driver to assess the situation. The driver said the previous day there had been friction between students, but no major incidents occurred. She explained that while on her August 7 morning route, three adults entered the bus without permission.
“I thought they were saying something to their children, but the mother addressed the entire bus saying, ‘Don’t nobody mess with my son or niece!’” the driver said. She asked the adults to exit the bus, but a fight began involving students and the adults as they moved through the bus.
The three adults, identified as 39-year-old Chiquita Smith, 19-year-old Ametryss Walker, and 34-year-old Sandreka Williams, were detained at the scene. Review of bus footage confirmed the driver’s account, showing the women yelling at students and engaging in pushing and pulling that escalated into a physical confrontation, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
All three women were transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and charged with criminal trespass, disruption of public schools, insulting or abusing school personnel, affray, disorderly conduct, simple battery, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. No major injuries were reported.
According to a spokesperson from the school district, parents of bus riders were notified directly. Additional notification were sent to all Westside parents via ParentSquare, the district’s communications tool.
The following message was sent to the parents of the bus riders:
