Bleckley County opens season with a win over Rutland

MACON, Georgia – (41NBC/WMGT) – On Thursday night at Thompson Stadium, the Bleckley County Royals and Rutland Hurricanes kicked off their 2025 season in the second game of the second annual Gridiron Classic.

Bleckley County shut out Rutland 31-0 in last year’s gridiron classic.

Amongst several first half turnovers, the Royals went into the locker room at halftime up 14-7 after two touchdowns from Josh Stanley Jr., and great defensive play from Kmarion McClintock.

Bleckley County would take over in the second half to win 35-13. The Royals head to Dodge County for their cross county rivalry matchup, that came down to the wire in 2024, while the Canes head to Jeff Davis, next Friday.
