Friday Night Football Scrimmages
Several Middle Georgia High School teams hit the gridiron Friday night to prepare for their season openers next week

MIDDLE GEORGIA – (41NBC/WMGT) – Several local football programs took the field Friday night for scrimmage games, to prepare for their season openers next week.
In Gray, Jones County defeated Mary Persons 41-28 at Greyhound Stadium. The Greyhounds will head to Freedom Field to take on the Veterans Warhawks Friday in a rematch of last season’s week one matchup. The Bulldogs will host Jackson Friday.
At Jones Field in Macon, the Stratford Eagles defeated the GMC Prep Bulldogs 31-0. The Eagles will head to St. Anne Pacellie Friday, while the Dogs will head to Atkinson County Friday.
At Ed Defore Sports Complex, the Rutland Hurricanes beat the Central Chargers 39-8. Both teams will be participating in the Gridiron Classic at Thompson Stadium on Thursday with Central taking on Dougherty County at 4 p.m., and Rutland facing Bleckley County following the Central game.
At Thompson Stadium, the Veterans Warhawks tied with the Howard Huskies 14-14 after four quarters of play. Veterans will host Jones County, while Howard takes on Westside as part of the Gridiron Classic Friday night at 8 p.m.
At the Shamrock Bowl, the Dublin Fighting Irish defeated the Hawkinsville Red Devils 47-0. Dublin will host Swainsboro Friday, while Hawkinsville hosts Marion County Friday.
