Macon Receives Promise Neighborhood Grant
Macon is one of 15 in the country to get a $500,000 grant to improve rundown neighborhoods. The promise neighborhoods grant from the U.S. Department of Education will help improve some of the poorest areas of the city. It’s designed to help kids succeed in school and beyond. In addition, the Peyton Anderson Foundation will contribute $150,000 to the effort as part of the local matching requirement.
