Macon to Base Bus Route Ridership is Up

Robins Air Force Base leaders say the new BIRD bus route has been a success.  The base implemented the route from Macon to the RAFB in November 2010. The goal was to provide commute alternatives to reduce traffic and air congestion near the base. More than 1,000 people are taking advantage of the free ride. Also in 2011, vanpooling increased 112% and carpooling went up 26% among base employees.
