Warner Robins Church hosting school supply giveaway over the weekend

Truth in the Word Ministries is holding the school supply giveaway outside of the church which is located at 401G Belmont Drive in Warner Robins.

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) —Truth in the Word Ministries in Warner Robins is preparing to host its annual Back to School Backpack Giveaway this Saturday, continuing a tradition nearly a decade in the making.

According to Apostle Dr. Aaron Hamilton, the church has organized the event for about nine years. Each year, the ministry works with local school administrators to determine what students need most. Volunteers then purchase backpacks and fill them with school supplies ahead of the giveaway.

This year, the church plans to distribute approximately 115 backpacks to students ranging from elementary to high school. The backpacks will include items such as rulers, pens, pencils, glue sticks, and spiral notebooks.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday outside Truth in the Word Ministries, located at 401G Belmont Drive in Warner Robins. In addition to school supplies, the church will offer free food and drinks and will hold a drawing to give away two Android tablets.
