WINDER, Georgia (CNN/WSB)— A Barrow County judge has delayed the trial of Colin Gray, the father of a teenager accused of killing four people at Apalachee High School in 2024.

Gray was scheduled to stand trial in September, but a motion filed by his attorneys cited a scheduling conflict due to ongoing legal proceedings in Fulton County. Judge Nicolas Primm granted the delay during a hearing on Wednesday.

“I am going to continue the case from the September week because there are so many parts involved, moving parts,” Primm said. “I’ll confer with the state and with the defense and with Hall County and we’ll try to find a time to get this reset for the three weeks that we anticipate it’s going to take.”

While the judge did not issue a new trial date, he did set a hearing for pre-trial motions to begin on August 1.

Gray faces 29 charges in connection to son’s alleged actions

Colin Gray is accused of giving his son, Colt Gray, access to a firearm and ammunition. Prosecutors say this occurred despite previous concerns that were reported to police. Colin Gray has pleaded not guilty to 29 criminal charges.

His son, Colt Gray, is currently indicted on 55 felony counts related to the deadly incident at the high school.

No additional scheduling updates for the trial were announced on Wednesday.
