Washington County Sheriff’s Office investigating weekend shooting

Sheriff Cochran says emergency personnel responded to a late Saturday night/early Sunday morning shooting in downtown Tennille on Central Avenue at an event center.

TENNILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)-Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran, so deputies are investigating that left one person injured.

According to a post on the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, Sheriff Cochran says emergency personnel responded to a late Saturday night/early Sunday morning shooting in downtown Tennille on Central Avenue at an event center.

He says witnesses stated a large fight broke out and shots were fired.

The victim was taken to Washington County Regional Medical Center, and later flown to a trauma center for treatment.

Sheriff Cochran says the investigation is ongoing.
