Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful awarded $7,500 for East Macon beautification projects

Grants will fund park improvements and a student gardening program at MLK Elementary in East Macon.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful received $7,500 from Keep America Beautiful to support litter reduction and beautification projects in East Macon.

According to a news release, a $2,500 Greatest American Cleanup Grant will fund litter reduction and beautification efforts at Fort Hill Community Park on Eastview Avenue.

A $5,000 MLK Community Improvement Grant will support beautification initiatives and an after-school gardening program at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School on Shurling Drive.
