MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The remnants of the cold front that brought severe weather to most of the Middle Georgia region has finally cleared out. Dry conditions and clearer skies Screenshot 2025 05 22 070713Screenshot 2025 05 22 070802have been hard on its heels as winds have switched over to the northwest.  Temperatures and dewpoints will be significantly more comfortable for the rest of the forecast period. Highs will be in the 70s and low 80s with overnight lows in the upper 50s and 60s.  Winds will be a bit gusty today. Northwest winds at 10-15 mph could gust as high as 25 mph at times. Winds are expected to calm tonight and into Friday as high pressure takes control.  For Friday, we have a break from the showers and thunderstorms as high pressure establishes itself over the Southeast. Upper level ridging will keep the flow west/northwest which will also give us a break from the humidity. Temperatures will be a few degrees below normal — in the upper 70s to mid 80s. Dewpoints will be limited to the 50s which will feel wonderful! By the weekend, showers and thunderstorms return along with the humidity.
