Hollywood Minute: Diddy Faces Federal Trial in New York, Kim Kardashian to testify in Paris robbery case
Sean "Diddy" Combs heads to court in New York while Kim Kardashian readies to testify in Paris heist trial

(CNN)- Final jury selection and opening statements are expected today, May 12, in the federal criminal trial of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs in New York. Combs has pleaded not guilty to five serious charges, including two counts of sex trafficking, two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, and one count of racketeering conspiracy.
If convicted, he could face life in prison. Prosecutors confirmed that Combs rejected a proposed plea deal before the trial began.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, Kim Kardashian is set to testify on Tuesday, May 13, in the trial of the men accused of robbing her at gunpoint in Paris.
The high-profile case stems from a 2016 incident in which a gang of armed assailants broke into Kardashian’s private apartment, bound and gagged her, and locked her in a bathroom while they made off with nearly $10 million worth of jewelry — including a 20-carat diamond engagement ring from her then-husband, Kanye West.
Kardashian has previously described the ordeal as “the scariest thing” that’s ever happened to her.
Ten people are on trial in France, facing charges of armed robbery, kidnapping, and criminal conspiracy. Eight of the defendants have denied the charges. The case is believed to involve the largest robbery ever committed against an individual in France.
